Time is a Thief
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on the homestead is that if I don’t have a plan, life will make one for me. Time is the most valuable resource here, and meal planning + batch cooking help me take more of it back.
This week, I spent 4 hours in the kitchen and now have 20+ dinners (with leftovers) ready to go for the months ahead.

The menu:
🧀 Mac & cheese
🌮 Enchiladas
🍠 Sweet potato chili
🥦 Japanese BBQ veggies
🍛 Cauliflower curry
🥜 African peanut stew
🌱 Quinoa & lentil taco filling
I also keep the freezer stocked with sourdough biscuits, French bread, and pie filling. Since I work during the week, having homemade meals prepped means lower stress, more savings, and a whole lot less temptation to DoorDash dinner.
Planning ahead = reclaiming time. And on the homestead, that’s everything.
